A good friend once told me to ” Drink deeply and flow freely”
I was recently reminded of the power and the simplicity of what those words mean.
Drink deeply of the Lord’s cup and flow freely into the world.
There is something so beautiful when we learn to be free in Him. We do more, we live louder, we grow wings and we fly. No pre-occupations that narrow our view of the Father, no being easily offended, or easily angered. No disturbance is enough, no comment, no order, no law, no insecurity is enough, for He is enough. Through Him all things are possible. All the honor and glory to Him, Jesus, the freedom of our souls desire.
Here’s a little poem of encouragement by Lucy Larcom the author of “At the beautiful gate” And other hymns and songs of faith.
How must the pilgrim’s load be borne? / With staggering limbs and look forlorn? His guide chose all that load within; / There’s need of everything but sin.
So trusting Him whose love He knows, / Singing along the road he goes; And nightly of his burden makes / A pillow, till the morning breaks.
“Your statues are my songs In the house of my pilgrimage.” - Psalm 119:54
